Ramin is the President and CEO of Chemists Without Borders, a humanitarian organization committed to improving the quality of life in communities most in need through science and holistic interventions. Ramin is passionate about building bridges between science and communities by connecting students, scientists, humanists, philanthropists, and foundations with community leaders, parents, and individuals, thereby helping to enact systemic and sustainable solutions. He is a zealous advocate for science, serving humanity and addressing humanitarian challenges.
Ramin’s career, prior to CWB, is highlighted by his three decades of leadership at world-class academic medical and higher education institutions, including UCSF Health, UCSF Stanford Healthcare, the University of Pennsylvania, the American University of Beirut, and Weill Cornell Medicine. As a transdisciplinary thinker, he was able to connect people and ideas to navigate complexity, drive innovation, and build strategic partnerships leading to transformative results. He served as core faculty of the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.
Ramin holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and has completed graduate studies in public administration (health & science policy emphasis) from California State University, Hayward. He is a graduate of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in Executive Education.
Ramin serves as a coach and mentor to leaders, doers, and thinkers and serves on various advisory boards. He is a work in progress as a fiction and non-fiction writer. Ramin and his wife Patricia live in Sonoma County, California.
