Kathryn is one of the student volunteers for Chemists Without Border, starting in the spring of 2025. Kathryn joined the organization because she believes that science—when rooted in equality, integrity, and duty—has the potential to direct humanity towards a future of global prosperity.
Kathryn is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and religion while minoring in linguistics at Western Washington University. While on campus, Kathryn also serves as the professional development coordinator for her university’s student chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS), where Kathryn engages with her fellow classmates, faculty, and surrounding community members to nurture sustainable connections that will empower young scientists who are motivated to build a better future. Additional ACS club activities include volunteering in educational outreach programs by performing chemistry demonstrations for secondary schools, as well as assisting with chemistry department socials throughout the academic year.
After graduation, Kathryn is interested in continuing her educational career at the University of British Columbia to pursue a profession in the industry sector that prioritizes implementing solutions to address pollution.
Kathryn is a member of The Ninety-Nines, the American Kitefliers Association, and the American Chemical Society. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys practicing yoga, discovering new music, and admiring cross-cultural fashion.
