Anagi joined Chemists Without Borders (CWB) as a volunteer in 2020, inspired by a desire to help those in need and curious about how scientific expertise could contribute to solving humanitarian challenges. A chemist at heart, Anagi was attracted to CWB’s mission to use science as a tool for solving urgent humanitarian challenges. Her journey with CWB started with a focus on expanding access to clean water but quickly evolved into a broader passion for helping society at large.
Coming from a developing country, Anagi is a passionate advocate for equal education and empowerment of underprivileged and marginalized communities. Beyond her involvement with CWB, Anagi serves as an ambassador for Educate Lanka and mentors underprivileged college students worldwide through the Global Mentorship Initiative, helping foster opportunities for those striving for a brighter future.
Anagi brings her chemistry expertise, networking skills, and deep sense of purpose to her role on the CWB management team. By building bridges between scientific knowledge and local needs, she is enthusiastic about collaborating with diverse communities and passionate volunteers to develop lasting, innovative solutions. Anagi invites individuals who share her vision of a healthier, cleaner, and more equitable world to join Chemists Without Borders. Together, we can transform science into service and create positive change that reaches those who need it most.
